MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Art Basel Miami Beach has descended upon the beaches, art districts and other venues of Miami Beach and Miami’s downtown again this year. Art Basel Miami Beach is one of the United States’ largest art events, its sister show is Switzerland’s Art Basel, now in its 41st year. CHAUVET® COLORado™ wash lights have lit the way for a couple noteworthy events.
Twelve COLORado™ 1 wash lights uplit the draperies surrounding the open-air Sky Pool Deck at Miami’s Marquis Residences, which served as the setting for a performance by painter Pamela Masik. Masik delivered a live painting performance entitled “Awakening”. Her series of work entitled “The Caged Bird” is on exhibit in the Wynwood Arts District. The fixtures were specified by Karim Atash of New Image Productions located in Miami.
“I like the colors and how easy they are to work with,” Atash said of working with COLORado™ 1 wash lights.
Elsewhere, Collins Park was the stage for a beach-bound installation piece called 'Oceanfront Nights' using CHAUVET® COLORado™ Tri Tour wash lights. The installation is organized by Creative Time featuring an environment created by Phu Hoang Office and Rachely Rotem Studio.
Art Basel Miami Beach runs through December 5, 2010.
