OCALA, Fla. – Cloud 9 brings a posh and sexy atmosphere to the Ocala club scene where club goers can dance the night away among whimsical furniture, unique hand-carved décor and 36 CHAUVET® fixtures.

Anthony Pastorino, owner of Cloud 9, and Paul Olmedo, his personal assistant, spent two years redesigning and transforming the former pool hall into an upscale, 6,000-square-foot club. Lighting Designer Roland Sosa brought Pastorino’s vision of a venue combining elegance and funkiness to reality by incorporating a relatively maintenance-free lighting design with wide, saturated washes and extremely bright moving heads. Sosa specified 25 COLORado™ 1 Tour wash lights, six Q-Spot™ 250 moving heads, four Q-Roll™ 150 scanners and a Hurricane™ Haze 2 haze machine. Sosa, Olmedo, Pastorino and Lighting Technician Robert Jarosh spent approximately one month on the Cloud 9 installation.

“The owner wanted fixtures with a long life span that didn’t require frequent bulb changes,” Sosa said. “Q-Spot™ 250 provides a sharp light with bright colors that make the décor in the club really pop. Combining the moving heads with the powerful COLORado™ 1 Tour wash lights really enhance the mood of the club, while the Q-Roll™ 150 scanners filled the dance floor with 3D effects.”

On any given night, club goers can dance to the latest hits on a spacious dance floor or lounge on plush, red couches and giant hand-shaped chairs. The entire space has an abundance of stainless steel designs, including clouds, swirls and hearts, which reflect the light produced from the fixtures. A hand-carved stainless cutout is suspended above the long, swirling red bar which spans an entire wall.

“Cloud 9 is a vivid and upscale venue in Ocala,” Sosa said. “When the light show is running, the club really pops from all the reflections on the stainless steel embellishments.”
