IN THE SPOTLIGHT

EXTREME EXPOSURE:
CHAUVET LIGHTS ON PRIME TIME TV SHOW

ABC’ s show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition enlisted CHAUVET as a lighting sponsor for the hugely successful prime time program where a team of designers, and workmen races against a seven-day deadline to completely renovate the entire house of a deserving family. Show producers said they sought CHAUVET’s participation because of the brand’s excellent reputation. We look to stellar companies to come on board as sponsors,” said Field Producer Andy Lipson. The shows, which air on Sundays at 8 p.m. draw an audience of over 10 million viewers.
Lipson first contacted CHAUVET to help metamorphose a garage into a recording studio and also illuminate an outdoor stage built for the family of John Cox, a
dedicated husband, father, pastor and musician. Other sponsors included Sears and Yamaha.

The show’s crew transformed the Cox family’s garage into a top of the line-recording studio and built a mini-amphitheater in their backyard where country singer LeAnn Rimes surprised the family with a live performance lit by CHAUVET par cans. “We are incredibly happy,” said John Cox. “We’re having such a great time with the lights. They are awesome.”

CHAUVET so far has supplied par cans, a DMX Kinta Derby, controllers, Laser Wizard, a fogger and blacklights for two shows.

The design crew goes way beyond what most people would expect when renovating their homes, surprising families with such fantasy rooms as a teenager bedroom with the latest in DJ equipment or the recording studio they built for the unsuspecting Cox family.

CHAUVET CEO Albert Chauvet said the huge exposure from the shows is not the main reason behind his decision to involve the company. “ We welcomed the chance to make a difference in people’s lives,” he said.

PRODUCT INNOVATION

TIGER™ UNLEASHED, SEIZES CONTROL

Newly released Tiger™ is a small, powerful and flexible lighting controller for use with moving lights. It is one of the easiest lighting controllers to program and operate. Unlike many other small controllers, Tiger™ is suitable for use in a wide range of venues, from small theatres and schools to TV sets and nightclubs. It features an effects engine that enables the setting of shapes, colors, and beam effects such as rainbows. Besides controlling moving lights, Tiger™ also allows control of 18 dimmer channels or switch pack channels with each channel having its own fader. For replay, Tiger™ has 12 pages of faders. You can store 3,000 chase steps and play these back in a way best suited to the show. A traditional theatre cue stack or chase stacks run either manually, from a sound input, using the onboard microphone, or from a beat button to offer a level of flexibility not usually found on a desk of this type.

An LCD screen is at the heart of Tiger™. Navigating the various operating modes is a breeze. Whether setting up the desk, assigning fixtures, patching or setting operating modes, the user is provided with easy to understand and operate menu structures. Tiger™ is made in Europe.
