AVALON CLUB: IN LIVING COLORS

Toronto, Canada- ACS Sound and Lighting designers utilized 82 CHAUVET® LEDsplash™ Jr. wash lights to execute a club owner’s vision for “living walls” of changing hues that would express different moods, at a key stroke. The lights are wall-mounted behind diffusing domes in two distinct sections of the club. |
CHAUVET's® ShowXpress™ software controls them via DMX.ACS owner Carlos Costa said he selected the CHAUVET® units because of their compact size, and reliability, adding, “They are simply the best for this application, providing the most efficient and brightest output.”

LOOKING UP at THE HUDSON
|
New York, New York- Sean McGill and Michael Sinensky, co-owners of New York’s iconic Webster Hall, have added yet another dimension to nightlife in the Big Apple with the creation of Hudson Terrace. Part events hall and part nightclub, the 10,000-square foot venue caters to a corporate clientele weekdays. Weekends, it transforms itself into an elite nightclub. The lighting design successfully incorporates elements that are versatile enough to suit the venue’s dual functions.
| The space encompasses two floors of entertainment: a 6,000-square-foot lower level and a 4,000-square-foot semi-enclosed rooftop terrace. Defining the lower level are two 15-square-foot CHAUVET® DVwall™ video systems, which provide an unusual focal point given that ceilings are often overlooked in club décor. |

Complementing the video ceiling is a light show incorporating a majority of CHAUVET® LED fixtures to please both corporate and nightclub crowds. Music and technical director Steven Petrik explained his choice of fixtures, citing their “low energy consumption, extended life, and the lack of heat.” |

ONCE UPON A GREEN LEGEND
|
|
The Legend™ 6500 is a 10 to14-channel intelligent LED moving yoke wash with full RGBW mixing capability, particularly suited for production, stage and architectural applications. Distinguishing features include adjustable color temperatures (preset values range from 3,200°K to 10,000°K), the capability to trigger instant color changes, silent operation and a casing design focused on stability and ruggedness.

The unit comes fitted with a total of 90 high power LEDs (700mA red; 1,500mA blue, green and white), and 15° lenses. It produces an excellent long-throw wash- 14,780 lux @ 2m-, with a beam angle of 12° and a field angle of 23°. Optional 10 and 30-degree lenses can be swapped into the fixture to respectively provide a tighter or wider beam configuration.

Standard functions and features include variable electronic strobe, electronic dimming, remote fixture reset, automatic pan and tilt correction, adjustable fan rate, an LCD display with password protection, and Neutrik Powercon® power connectors. See it live at the Interstate Tour. |

BUILDER SEES GREEN
|
Pheonix, Arizona- Developers of City North, a multi-million dollar mixed-use development in Phoenix, Arizona, demonstrated their commitment to earth-friendliness by utilizing CHAUVET® COLORado™ 3 units to light the façade of the sales building. Output from the long-life LEDs bathe the exterior in light, while offering a substantial energy saving over traditional halogen fixtures, and a much longer operational lifetime. City North is seeking the coveted LEED certification of the United States Green Building Council.
In addition to LED technology, builders are utilizing sustainable materials and recycling construction waste throughout the project and seek to minimize energy needs both inside and outside the structures. “We chose the CHAUVET® COLORado™ 3 units for their great reputation, LED output, and IP rating,” said Todd Stover, lighting designer for Merestone, a meeting and event support services company located in Scottsdale, Arizona.
