Legend begets Legend: CHAUVET & BOCELLI

In a recent swing through South Florida, world-renowned opera singer Andrea Bocelli performed with Symphony Miami at Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, FL. Lighting contractor Fritz Novak was called to supply a lighting rig that included CHAUVET Legend™ 5000X fixtures. The units served as accents and gobo projection onto screens and fabric drapes.

Extreme Makeover:
Home Edition #405… Flooded?

CHAUVET AbyssTM II lights were used in a Fall episode of ABC’s prime time mega hit Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, making this the third time that CHAUVET fixtures appear on the show.This time around, designers were seeking an easy-to-use water effect to help build a nautical theme in a boy’s “pirate” bedroom. The plug n’ play Abyss TM II was the perfect solution because it is easily manipulated and can be set to stay fixed on the color blue. "CHAUVET, literally, shinned a light on a great home that was built by a community that cares, " said Diane Korman, senior producer for the show. In previous episodes, CHAUVET’s contributions included a DMX-512 KintaTM derby, PAR cans and atmospheric effects.

PRODUCT INNOVATION:

Q-WASH LED

The Q-Wash TM LED is a DMX-512 programmable moving yoke fitted with eighteen 1-watt LEDs to deliver a rich wash with full RGB mixing capability. Besides the obvious advantage of longevity, low power consumption and low heat emission afforded by the use of LEDs, the Q-Wash TM LED also offers the convenience of remote reset, vector speed control, and the functionality of full dimming and automatic pan and tilt correction. Users can program and store up to 100 steps for later recall without the need for a controller.

The Q-Wash TM LED comes equipped with standard lenses that create a 30-degree beam angle. Optional lenses are also available to create a wider, 45-degree beam angle.   Movement is extremely smooth and fast, within a range of 540 degrees of pan by 270 degrees of tilt. Pan and tilt are reversible. Users can access built in automated and sound-activated programs via master/slave or DMX mode. Q-Wash TM LED can be switched internally to draw from either a 120V or 230 V power source. Weight is less than 20 lbs (8.9 kilograms).
