CHAUVET LAUNCHES TRAINING WEBINAR

CHAUVET successfully aired its first ever webinar to a trial audience of US sales representatives on September 25th. The webcasts provide an effective way to interface live with end users, representatives, distributors and dealers from around the globe. CHAUVET is the first major lighting entertainment manufacturer to launch such forum, offering viewers live demos and training on products or programming as well as valuable insights into the company’s policies, strategies and emerging technologies.

“The webinars are a key part of CHAUVET’s grass root efforts begun earlier this year with the well received Interstate Road Tour,” CEO Albert Chauvet said. “ This allows us to be in closer touch with our customers, keep them abreast of all the new and exciting things we have in store at CHAUVET and get their feedback right away.”

The next webcast will air on Tuesday October 23rd at 7 p.m. EST and is open to all CHAUVET dealers and reps and by invitation only to the general public.  CHAUVET staff will present some of the newest or most sought after products in the line, including the groundbreaking LED MiN™ Spot and MiN™ Wash, the COLORstrip™ and the COLORado™ 1. In the Palm of Your Hand: LED-Fitted MiN™ Spot & Wash

CHAUVET’s latest offerings in the intelligent lighting scene are sure to cause enthusiastic applause from anyone who has had to hang or transport a moving head fixture.

The new MiN™ yokes from CHAUVET are groundbreaking LED-fitted spot (!) and wash fixtures that fit in the palm of one hand and weigh less than 9lbs.
MiN™ Spot is in a league of its own, as a pioneering LED-fitted spot with 9 gobos plus open, a gobo spin wheel effect, and a beam angle of 13°.  The MiN™ Wash swaps the gobo wheel of the Spot for built-in color macros and a larger beam angle of 27° (Field angle 53°).

MiN™ wash and MiN™ Spot feature a number of user-definable parameters, offering great flexibility.  Movement range is adjustable, with stops for pan at 540, 360, and 180 degrees and for tilt at 270, 180, and 90 degrees. Pan and tilt can be inverted. In addition, the two yokes can be set to use all 13 available channels of DMX control, or limited to 5 channels if needed during shows with large quantities of fixtures.  Each unit features RGB color mixing, variable electronic strobe and dimmer, and built-in movement macros in both master/slave and DMX modes, which hastens programming.  Practical LED displays can be set to on, off, and auto settings, and the units can be reset to factory default from the fixture menu.

Each yoke comes fitted with one 14-watt RGB LED rated to last 50,000 hours.
Thanks to low operating temperatures and a very slight power draw of 70W per unit, users gain more freedom from electrical limitations when designing their show. Built in automatic and sound-active programs, switchable power, and efficient fan cooling round out the undeniable allure of these pint-sized powerhouses.

PRODUCT INNOVATION:

Alight with Élan

With the release of the élan, CHAUVET continues to take LED technology to new levels. Powered by 224 LEDs, the élan projects rotating and crisscrossing beams, and mid-air effects. A 70° beam angle allows ample room and floor coverage. The élan offers four channels of DMX control (red, green, blue and strobe), a plethora of preprogrammed color changes and patterns and master/slave settings. Separate knobs control sound sensitivity for movement and color. By manipulating the dipswitches located on the unit, users can also control color strobing and movement. An additional power output enables daisy chaining of up to 20 fixtures. The use of LEDs keeps weight and power requirements low.

TRICK MY TRUCK GOES UNDERWATER

A recent episode of the popular “Trick my Truck” on Country Music Television provides yet another imaginative use of an inexpensive CHAUVET product. The show’s “Chrome Shop Mafia” designers incorporated the Abyss II rippling water effect in the interior design of a semi truck with an “underwater” theme.

Trucks in the shows are re-tooled and re-designed to reflect their owner’s personality and wishes. The truck in Episode #301 belongs to a former Navy submariner. So it was transformed to look like an underwater craft on wheel and dubbed the “U.S.S. LaGrange” after his owner’s name.

“Chrome Shop Mafia” designers decorated the truck’s exterior with nuclear sub graphics on the sides, bright blue paint, and depth charges painted on the rear of the cab. Inside, every available panel was changed to resemble coral rock; the television emerges from a clamshell; an etched Plexiglas panel displays an underwater scene; the bed is housed in a “treasure chest” and draped in gold linens.

The star of the interior though is the CHAUVET Abyss II aimed at the roof of the sleeper cabin to bathe it in a soothing, rippling blue. See for yourself: A rerun of the episode is scheduled for November 2nd, 2007 at 12:30 a.m.
