CHAUVET MiN Spot’s Light-up The Father's House
Vacaville, CA- When The Father’s House decided to modernize their lobby to welcome people for services and conferences, they chose LED-fitted MiN Spot moving yokes for their diminutive size, distinctive performance and striking allure. Unlike moving yoke LED washes, the CHAUVET MiN™ spots are among a rare breed of LED-fitted gobo fixtures making their first steps into the lighting industry. According to Kevin Ohlin, lighting designer at The Father’s House, the MiNs are not only “really nice”, but also “performed extremely well live.”
The MiN™ units are mounted on small pieces of trussing suspended in the main lobby, where their diminutive size (6.8” x 6.8” x 9.8”) makes them as unobtrusive as possible to the décor. To welcome worshipers either for scheduled services or conferences, custom gobos were fitted into the fixtures. Standard specifications and features such as a pan range of 540° and a tilt range of 270°, RGB color mixing, a 9-slot gobo wheel, dimmer, strobe, and built-in movement macros allow users to configure the light to meet their individual needs. Installation is greatly eased by an exceptionally low unit weight of under 9lbs.
Since the lights will be on for extended periods of time, the use of LED technology creates additional benefits as well. The lobby area remains cooler than in an environment lit by traditional, incandescent lamps. Secondly, power demands stay low, a bonus to any organization that is operating within a budget. Lastly, as cited by Ohlin, with the fixtures mounted in the ceiling, the longevity of LED technology is a huge advantage over incandescent lamps, where bulbs would need to be changed regularly.
The fixture’s aesthetics also are a major selling point. “The MiN™ Spots are the best looking, small, impact lights on the market today,” says Ohlin.
