Walters Art Museum Goes Green and Makes Green 11/5/2007Baltimore, MD- The Walters Art Museum annual fundraiser gala received a revamp this year when the gala moved outdoors under a 9,000-square-foot Clearspan tent. Hanover, Maryland-based production company Event Tech provided sound, lighting, and power for the event, utilizing the advances in LED technology to save on energy usage and fuel costs. Over 65 CHAUVET LED fixtures were utilized for stage, dance floor, and ambient lighting. COLORado™ 1 units provided stage and dance floor lighting, with additional COLORado™ 3 and LEDrain™ 56 fixtures providing ambient and spot lighting. The result was a wash of saturated hues that could be varied to reflect the different moods of the event. The financial contributions generated will allow the Walters Art Museum to continue offering free admission for the coming year to an impressive fine art collection that spans the eras between antiquity and modernism. LED lighting helped them save money on expenditures and enabled them to “go green” for the first time. “By utilizing the LED fixtures instead of the halogen and discharge lamps used in previous years, we were able to cut the generator size (and thereby fuel costs and environmental impact) in half compared to previous years” said Mike Aug, President of Sales and Marketing at Event Tech. The event marks the 10th year that Event Tech has provided production services for the Gala. Stated Aug: “We are proud to be a long time partner of the Walters. It is a great museum with a tremendous history.” Key Lighting Equipment included: About Event Tech:
