“Visions” dreams big with LEDsplash™ 200B

HACKENSACK, NJ – Since 1991, “Visions,” a powerful, theatrical drama performed throughout the northeast, has reached more than 30,000 viewers, includes a 400-member troupe and features 50 CHAUVET® products.

“Visions” is a daring drama that depicts the highs and lows of drug addiction, alcoholism and recovery. It is a traveling show performed in rehabilitation centers, hospitals, youth shelters and prisons throughout eight Northeastern states. Bob L., author, producer and director, uses 30 LEDsplash™ 200B wash lights and five Followspot 400G spotlights to create specific moods in each scene. He also utilizes two D-Fi™ Plus and 15 Satellite™ D-Fi wireless DMX systems to ensure the fixtures are operational regardless of where the performance takes place.

“We use lighting to create moods that are constantly changing throughout the show,” Bob said. “Quiet, isolated and depressed scenes need to turn into positive scenarios that give viewers hope. We chose fixtures that would not only enhance each scene, but were also easy to operate.”

Occasionally, “Visions” travels to locations without an adequate power supply. Bob invested in D-Fi™ Plus and Satellite™ D-Fi wireless DMX systems to ensure the LEDsplash™ 200B wash lights receive enough power and wireless DMX signal to operate.

“Visions” is performed at all types of locations for people who have never been exposed to theater,” Bob said. “We rely on our wireless DMX systems because we never know what we’re in for in terms of equipment and we like to be fully prepared for each possible scenario. LEDsplash™ 200B not only works great with the Satellite™ D-Fi system, but it also has a wide coverage angle and the LEDs add a touch of color we wouldn’t have otherwise achieved.”
