Nexus 4×4 Dazzles At Dallas Cowboys
November finished with a flourish for CHAUVET Professional’s Nexus 4×4. Just days after winning the 2013 Parnelli Award for Indispensable Technology in the lighting category, the RGB COB LED blinder/wash dazzled a national TV audience with its intense brightness and vivid colors during Selena Gomez’s halftime performance at the Dallas Cowboys-Oakland Raiders Thanksgiving football game. Keeping pace with the multi-platinum superstar were two massive displays of Nexus 4×4 panels, which flashed a brilliant array of colors and accented high points of Gomez’s performance with blinding bursts of intense white light.

‘What Now?’ Stand-Up Comedy Tour
Kevin Hart recently headlined two sold-out shows at London’s 20,000-capacity O2 Arena. Tour lighting designer Ken Delvo turned to CHAUVET Professional’s Rogue Series to provide stunning wash effects for the shows that were every bit as smooth, fast and multi-faceted as the star performer’s comedic style. Delvo specified 24 Rogue R2 Washes and 8 Rogue R1 Washes for the shows from London-based SXS Event. So confident was the LD in the Rogue’s capabilities, that, in fact, they were the only wash fixtures to be specified on the entire lighting rig. He positioned the Rogue R1 Washes on the floor of the stage for base stage wash and flew the R2 Washes above the stage for mid-air washing.

Most fans probably didn’t know what to expect when evenly matched Georgia Tech and Mississippi State squared off at the 2014 Capital One Orange Bowl, but there was one thing that everyone thought they’d see when they entered Sun Life Stadium for this iconic bowl game: a memorable halftime show. Amazing entertainment has become a tradition at the Orange Bowl, which in recent years has featured standout performances from the likes of Train, the Goo Goo Dolls, Kelly Clarkson, Kool & the Gang, Ciara and ZZ Top. This year, Grammy-winning country superstars Little Big Town did the game’s halftime tradition proud with a nonstop high-energy seven-minute performance set against a dynamic lightshow featuring Nexus Aw 7×7 panels from CHAUVET Professional.

Excelling in gymnastics requires a high level of adroitness and flexibility, two qualities that the Q-Wash 560Z-LED moving RGBWA wash from CHAUVET Professional has in abundance. Perhaps that’s why the fixture proved to be so popular at the 2015 Men’s and Women’s British Artistic Gymnastics Championships held at Echo Arena. Lighting designer Stephen Jolly arranged eight Q-Wash 560Z-LED fixtures provided by Novum AV on either side of the podium, where Olympians and other top gymnasts from throughout the world participated in an array of competitions covering the power horse, rings and floor exercises.

PVP S5 Shines
Based on the performance of the CHAUVET Professional PVP S5 panels, that future looks very bright indeed. “The video panels worked out beautifully,” said Jason Eible, lighting designer for Frank Gatto Associates (Boca Raton, FL), a multi-Emmy Award-winning company specializing in televised events. “They added an extra dimension to our design. They gave us better results and more flexibility over just hanging banners around the arena. We also used the panels to promote sponsors and upcoming events. They’re a perfect mix with the moving heads; everyone in the arena took notice of them.” A total of 48 PVP S5 panels were used in Eible’s design for the championship fight. The main “banner video wall,” consisting of 40 panels (20 wide by 2 tall), was positioned in front of the principal lighting rig.
